Mariana Salgado will address a reflection on the concepts and forms of participation in museum communities to create quality interactive experiences. Through examples, she will discuss her vision of how these and other cultural spaces can face different models of participation that innovate in services for their audiences. These crossroads become vital not only in times of crisis but in the search to promote improvements in the field of culture, refreshing interdisciplinary views through design experiences.

Mariana works as a service designer at the Finnish Ministry of the Interior. She is part of the Inland Design innovation and design laboratory (inlandesign.fi). She is Argentine. In her spare time, when she's not swimming, she works for the social design podcast in Spanish: Diseño y diaspora. She believes in networking and is part of many professional and activist collaborative groups. You will usually see her advocating for different causes, cooking, or reading. Yes! She loves to read so much that at some point she did a Ph.D. in interaction design, specializing in how to make museums more democratic spaces. The projects she is most passionate about are those where she can apply design for vulnerable populations by thinking ahead with imagination and creativity.
